  • The Custer Beacon (map)

Ponder the Albatross

At length did cross an Albatross, Thorough the fog it came...

Somewhere in the eternal vastness of space and time, somewhere upon a westward wind, there is a point where Gypsy Punk, Jam Band, and New Grass collide with cosmic force.

That point is Ponder the Albatross.

The "Ponder Phenomenon" is given its drive and force by Josh Bower's ecstatic mandolin, guitar and vocals, Luke Lindholm's searing fiddle; ably abetted by Eric Vrtis' whisking wave of bass & vocals, and Adam Chiszar's symphonic symmetry on the drums.

Every song, every show, every performance, is masterfully executed with the frenetic abandon of a Dervish whirling in a swirling mystical haze that impels audiences to engage and become active participants in the shared experience.

Since the band's formation in 2015, Ponder the Albatross has lived for the road, playing live throughout the US and the Rocky Mountains, steadily gaining ground and breadth with every step. Playing upbeat Rock/Gypsy/Grass and getting mountain bars and festivals up and dancing with a strong connection to the music, Ponder the Albatross is a Mountain Band, through and through. You can hear the inspiration of the road, the sea, and the trees in their words and from their instruments - Music that speaks to spirit of wanderlust, to the flight of the Albatross.

Since 2020, the members have been spread out across the US, and continue to come together and tour, despite the distance. Ponder has pushed through the fray, through the void, and found grip and footfall where they would land, and are set with eyes ever focused onward and forward - to the next release, the next stage, the next crowd, the next note, the next horizon, and the next bend in the road. We Go.

The Tanner Johns Band

“Rapid City South Dakota original artist, Tanner Johns puts the soul back in rock music. He and his band have been featured in SDPB magazine and has opened up for many different acts from reggae artist, Aaron Kamm and the One Drops to 90s country musician Doug Stone.

Since breaking into the Midwest music scene with his first album “Putting the Pieces Together”, Tanner has been working full-time as a gigging musician taking on all genres and using pieces of each to craft another album being released in 2024.

Whether it’s through teaching, playing shows, or putting out recordings, Tanner’s goal is to continue to inspire people to do what they love and keep moving forward.” - Spotify
